|I’m Rory. I am a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who wandered for several years that lead to my excommunicated at the end of April 2017. I was living in silence and sin for many years and thought I was happy, but I finally gathered enough strength to open my mouth and confess my errors after much prayer. |
Nobody enjoys admitting that they were wrong….but I was wrong and my conduct did not reflect that of my membership in this Church or my faith in Christ.
I returned to the covenant path when I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Restored Church on 1 May 2018, 25 years, to the day, of my original baptismal date. I will be able to apply for the Restoration of Blessings ordinance a year from that date and if approved I will receive the priesthood again and take my family to the temple to be sealed to our youngest daughter. This is my testimony. This is my Faith. This is my attempt at helping others climb out of the holes that they are in and find the Light of Christ and strength in his redeeming grace.
My purpose in beginning to write this blog is to invite others to return to Christ, and of natural consequence, to His Church, if they have left. I want to help those who may have family who have wandered. I want to give some perspective to those that need or want some. I’m not an expert on anybody else’s journey, but I can tell you my process of returning and becoming a dedicated disciple of Christ, and it is found through a firm understanding of my relationship to my Father in Heaven and furthering my understanding of the doctrine of Christ.
